Since 1959 the United Sates Department of Defense has contracted Alpha Industries to manufacture outerwear for the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine Corp personnel.
With years of manufacturing for the military and selling surplus, it was an easy transition to supply the commercial fashion market with these iconic pieces. The demand is high for the unique quality and durability of these garments, a trait few other companies match.
From the mid-1960’s Alpha has continuously manufactured the M-65 Field Jacket, and produced virtually every MA-1 Flight Jacket used by US Air Force, Army and Navy pilots. To date, they have produced over 40 million pieces of military outerwear.
