As a cold snap dusts the northern parts of Europe with snow, it is appropriate to introduce you to Swedish outdoor clothing company, Fjällräven.
Åke Nordin, an avid outdoor adventurer from Örnsköldsvik, founded the company in 1960 after developing his own wooden framed backpack. A design that established the support principles used today and helped the outdoors become more accessible.
Fjällräven means Arctic Fox in Swedish and the name is in honor of the small-endangered predator, which lives in the harshest of environments. It is the inspiration behind the company’s dedication to support the environment throughout all practices and processes, whilst producing technically advanced garments.
After all the effort gone into designing durable, comfortable and functional gear, there is still an appreciation for aesthetics.
